Officials unveiled new state-line signage on the pedestrian walkway of the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge on Thursday.
New Hope Borough Mayor Larry Keller and City of Lambertville Mayor Andrew Nowick joined Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission officials, including Chairman Aladar Komjathy and Commission Executive Director Joseph Resta, for the unveiling to mark the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The signage, which was designed and installed by the commission’s maintenance personnel, consists of individual signs for Pennsylvania and New Jersey, along with a commission logo.

Two walkway railing sections and a support post are also colored differently to indicate the state line.
The bridge has been undergoing rehabilitation since early 2024, including painting and the installation of a new pedestrian walkway made of slip-resistant foam-core fiber-reinforced-polymer (FRP) panels.
Officials said the new panels prevented the application of painted state-line markings and led to the use of railing signage.
The new signs replace a painted tri-color state line that was added to the bridge’s previous walkway surface in 2014 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the original covered wooden bridge at the location.
Officials anticipate the new railing signage will be more suitable for photographs.
The unveiling was celebrated by Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce Vice President Carolyn Gadbois, Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce President Michael Sklar, and Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce Vice President Mary Brashier.

New LED lighting on the bridge is expected to be switched on next week.
