The former New Hope Star Diner is slated to reopen as a full-service restaurant and bar under new ownership, according to plans presented to the Solebury Township Board of Supervisors.

Cousins Anthony Adragna and Frank Picone have an agreement to purchase the closed diner on Lower York Road.

Picone told the supervisors Tuesday evening that the site would be overhauled before a planned summer opening.

“It will be a full-service dine-in restaurant and there will be a bar,” Picone said.

“We’re making considerable investment in the building,” he stated.

The supervisors approved the transfer of a liquor license from the closed TGI Friday’s at the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown Township to the diner site.

Picone came up in restaurant business when he worked for his father, Salvatore, at V&S Pizza in Falls Township. He later began a career as an accountant.

Adragna previously owned Cafe Antonio in Morrisville Borough. He sold the business in 2019.

The 5,800-square-foot diner closed in November 2023 and was listed for sale at $2.75 million in 2024.

The establishment was previously known as the New Hope Eagle Diner.
