New Hope Borough Police Chief Kevin Edwards is reminding residents about the importance of using crosswalks for pedestrian safety.

In a message to the community, Edwards pointed to the need for both pedestrians and drivers to be vigilant.

“As your Chief of Police, I want to remind everyone about the importance of using crosswalks for pedestrian safety,” Edwards said.

He offered the following safety tips for pedestrians:

  • Cross at marked crosswalks.
  • Obey traffic signals, wait for the walk signal, and check for vehicles.
  • Avoid distractions like phones and headphones.
  • Make eye contact with drivers.

Edwards also urged drivers to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and remain alert.

“Drivers, remember to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and stay alert, especially in busy areas,” he said. “Together, we can keep New Hope Borough safe for everyone.”

Edwards thanked residents for their cooperation.
