The New Hope Celebrates Pride Pageant returns for its fifth year and will feature drag queens and kings competing for the titles of Miss and Mr. New Hope Celebrates, organizers announced.

The pageant is themed “Love Comes In All Colors” and will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope Borough.

“I am so grateful that Bucks County Playhouse has welcomed us the past three years to host this event.  It means so much to the community and we are forever thankful for their generosity.  What an iconic stage for our contestants to compete on,” said Melissa Patterson, president of New Hope Celebrates.

Contestants will compete in categories including presentation, talent, formal wear, and onstage question and answer.

The winners will serve as featured entertainers at New Hope Celebrates events in 2025 and receive $1,000 each.

The presentation portion of the pageant will feature contestants embodying colors from the Progress Pride Flag to symbolize the diversity of love, organizers said.

Marti Cummings, a New York City drag artist, television personality, and political figure, will return for a third year as mistress of ceremonies.

“New Hope Celebrates has been creating positive change for the LGBTQIA+ community in a time when we so desperately need to come together to fight against attacks towards the most vulnerable within our communities,” Cummings said.

Cummings will be joined by past pageant winners, including Miss Cyannie Lopez, Ginger Alley, Phoebe Mantrappe, Amita Lady, Diva Divine, and Sir Harold Angels.

General admission tickets are $60, and VIP tickets are $80. Both include access to a pre-show social at the Playhouse Deck starting at 4 p.m. and that will feature a cash bar. VIP ticket holders will also receive light hors d’oeuvres and two complimentary drinks.

Tickets are available on the Bucks County Playhouse website.

Proceeds from the event will support New Hope Celebrates’ 2025 Pride celebration in May and the Bucks County Playhouse.

This year’s pageant honors the late Ricky Crosby, who helped bring LGBTQ+ pageantry to New Hope.
