Police Log: Bicycle Stolen, Dirty Shoes Shipped To Home & More

The latest incidents in the City of Lambertville.

January 19

Theft

At approximately 8:12 p.m., patrol responded to the area of North Union Street and Church Street for a report of subject stealing a red mountain style bicycle from a bike rack. Corporal Wurpel is investigating. 

January 21

Fraud

At approximately 5:48 p.m., patrol responded to a business on North Union Street for a suspicious telephone call from an unidentified male posing as a police officer advising the employees they would be arrested for stealing cash from the business. Upon arrival, the telephone call was determined to be a scam. 

January 23

Vandalism

At approximately 10:57 a.m., patrol responded to Church Street for a report of graffiti on the side of a business. Patrolman Brown is investigating. 

February 10

Theft

At approximately 6:34 p.m., a resident from Brunswick Avenue reported money missing from their account. Patrolman Brown is investigating. 

February 11

Scam

At approximately 7:12 p.m., a resident from South Franklin Street reported receiving a suspicious package with dirty shoes inside and a QR code affixed to the package. The package was quickly determined to be a “brushing scam”. Patrolman Lugo investigated. 

February 13

Scam

At approximately 11:49 a.m., a resident from North Union Street reported losing money after an unidentifiable subject threatened to post the victim’s picture with attached inappropriate content online if money was not paid to prevent it. The incident was determined to be a scam. Sergeant Gramlich investigated. 

February 14

Scam

At approximately 4:45 p.m., a resident from Jefferson Street reported receiving a telephone call from someone identifying themselves as an officer with the U.S. Marshal’s Service. This individual accused the victim of being connected to confiscated drugs, fake ID’s and laundering money. The incident was determined to be a scam. DCpl Bast investigated.
