Firefighters battled an early morning basement fire at a condominium in Solebury Township, authorities said.

The New Hope Eagle Fire Company posted that it was dispatched to a residence on Ingham Way at 1:38 a.m. Tuesday for a report of heavy smoke coming from the basement of the home.

Residents were evacuating the end unit condominium at the time of the call, the fire company said.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working basement fire with flames venting from basement windows on two sides of the structure. The dispatch was upgraded to a working fire box, the fire company said.

Firefighters began putting water on the flames and entered the basement to locate the seat of the fire and conduct a primary search. No individuals were found inside the home, the fire company said.

Crews undertook extensive overhaul operations and opening up voids to extinguish remaining pockets of fire, according to the fire company.

The blaze was declared under control at 2:01 a.m.

A spokesperson for the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office said the cause of the fire remained under investigation. The New Hope Eagle Fire Company posted that police were assisting and the cause appeared accidental.

Assisting the New Hope Eagle Fire Company at the scene were the Midway Volunteer Fire Company, City of Lambertville Fire Department, Delaware Township Fire Company, West Amwell Fire Company, Point Pleasant Fire Company, and Upper Makefield Fire Company. Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services also responded.
