Solebury Township has approved a master plan for its newest park.

Last month, the supervisors gave the green light to the concept plan for Solebury Green, which paves the way for the township to seek funding for the park.

The 12-acre park will be located on the site of the former New Hope Flea Market on Lower York Road (Route 202), between the former New Hope Star Diner and HG Wood Fired Pizza and Family Restaurant.

The township purchased the property in 2020 for $2.35 million using open space funds.

The supervisors approved the plan last month after incorporating feedback from residents and township officials.

The approved concept aims to create a central gathering space with a variety of amenities.

“It will be a place where the community can come together,” said a designer from SALT Design Studio, the firm hired by the township to develop the plan.

The approved plan features an open-air pavilion, parking with electric vehicle charging stations, a walking and biking trail, restrooms, a pollinator and sculpture garden, a community events lawn, trees and seating along a Route 202 plaza, a children’s play area, a fitness area, and a connection to the Logan Square shopping center.

The project timeline is dependent on securing grants and other funding.

Changes to the design were made following a public review last year and feedback from the supervisors.
