An artist has opened a new gallery in the City of Lambertville’s historic business district.

MADE Gallery welcomed its first customers late last year at 45 Church Street.

Born and raised in Delaware County, Matt DePropsero moved to Lambertville in 2021 after a successful career in marketing and graphic design. He graduated from Hussian College of Arts and Pennsylvania College of Fine Arts and became a full-time fine artist in 2019. His journey began with a small painting studio and teaching space in the city before expanding to the newly established gallery.

DePropsero’s dream of having his own painting studio and gallery came to fruition where he can showcase his own artwork and interact with the public.

“Lambertville and New Hope are a very tight knit community of artists and I feel my gallery has become an integral part of the local art scene,” he said.

DePropsero and his wife recently purchased a historic property in Lambertville and have done major renovations to get ready to open the gallery.

“Much of my work is painted on site or ‘en plein air’ and focuses mainly on local scenes of Bucks County and Hunterdon County,” he said.

The gallery features paintings to fit any budget from first-time buyers to seasoned collectors or those who appreciate quality and fine art.

DePropsero said the gallery has been well received by the Lambertville community.

He also offers painting lessons to those who have an interest as a hobby or as a professional artist.

DePropsero’s dream is to eventually have other artists teach and also display their work at the gallery.

DePropsero would like to continue expanding the gallery through educational offerings, and offering  group classes and workshops for aspiring artists. He is also looking into offering other merchandise which features his artwork such as fine art prints, note cards, calendars, etc which would also complement his art on display.

“I am very thankful that I made my way to Lambertville and am able to live my dream of being a professional fine artist and painting instructor,” he said. “I hope that more people can come to the gallery to see my work in person where it can truly be appreciated as opposed to viewing everything digitally through the internet or social media apps.”

DePropsero added, “Art is something to be taken in and shared among people as a community and I hope that my gallery can become a place for people to gather and share in that experience.”
