A man falsely reporting a drowning incident along the Delaware River, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers said they were alerted to a potential drowning in the Delaware River near the intersection of Easton Road (Route 611) and Durham Road (Route 212) in Durham Township last Tuesday at 6:22 p.m.

State police responded to the scene to aid the woman reported to be drowning.

At the scene, troopers found no evidence of a drowning. Instead, their investigation revealed that the 9-1-1 call had been made by a 39-year-old Stockton man who was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance at the time, state police said.

State police have not released the man’s name, but confirmed the investigation into the incident was ongoing.
