A new shop that focuses not just on flowers but artistry has opened in the City of Lambertville.
Located at 46 South Main Street, Fleurique Design was opened late last year by Lydia Platonov, a Floral Design Certification holder with five years of experience.
Platonov embarked on her dream of opening Fleurique Design after recognizing a deeper calling to enhance everyday spaces with the timeless beauty of flowers.
With her experience and formal training and hands-on work, she aims to capture the vision for her clients that brings a personal and unique touch to each design. Her creations have been seen at weddings, events, and bringing joy to someone who enjoys flowers in their home. She enjoys working with clients to bring them fresh and beautiful flower designs.
Platonov wanted to share her passion and love for art and nature with others.
“Flowers have this incredible ability to bring beauty, emotion, and life to any space, and that is something that I wanted to share with others,” she said.
Platonov’s approach focuses on personalized, ethically-driven designs that resonate with her values of community support and environmental care.
“Over the next decade, I aim to foster deeper community ties and continue offering uniquely sustainable floral solutions,” she said.
Launching a new business, especially in the intricate world of floristry, comes with its challenges.
Platonov knows the hurdles of establishing a business and getting the doors open.
“The encouragement from my friends and family has been pivotal in overcoming these challenges,” she acknowledged.
“Over the years, I’ve dreamt of having my own physical space where I could truly bring my designs to life and create a unique experience for those who love flowers,” Platonov said.
The floral industry is ripe with opportunities with the rising trend of eco-conscious consumerism.
“I aim to source flowers responsibly and use eco-friendly practices whenever possible, ensuring that my work not only makes people happy but also respects the planet,” the shop owner said.
Platonov anticipates greater demand for locally sourced and eco-friendly flowers in the years ahead.
Additionally, she is eager to introduce floral design workshops, allowing her to share her passion and expertise with the community.
Platonov invites everyone to experience Fleurique Design, whether in person at the picturesque location across from the Swan Hotel or online.
