A SWAT team was used to arrest a man along York Road on Wednesday morning.
The Central Bucks Emergency Response Team, a multi-agency tactical team, and Buckingham Township police assisted the Montgomery Township, Montgomery County, Police Department in arresting a man accused of being involved in a shooting.
In a statement, Buckingham Township police Chief David Scirrotto thanked the agencies that assisted with the “high-risk” warrant service at an address along York Road.
There were reports of police activity along York Road between Durham Road (Route 413) and Swamp Road on Wednesday.
Police said Biliver Fernando Ramos, 24, of Buckingham Township, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, carrying a firearm with without a license, possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct. He was preliminarily arraigned before Montgomery County District Judge Juanita Price and released on $50,000 bail.
According to NorthPennNow.com, a local news outlet covering Montgomery County, Ramos was warranted for a Dec. 8 shooting in Montgomery Township.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 8, Ramos allegedly fired a gun 12 times at the feet of a victim during an altercation at a Montgomery Township restaurant, police said.
The incident involved Ramos reportedly headbutted a person twice, resulting in head injuries that required hospital treatment, police said.
A search warrant executed at Ramos’ residence this week led to the recovery of the firearm believed to be used in the shooting, police reported.
