A propane truck overturned in a Monday afternoon crash in New Hope Borough.

The one-vehicle crash happened on South Sugan Road at the turn at Stoney Hill Road just before 3 p.m.

Several nearby homes were cleared of residents until the scene was secured.

Representatives from the propane company arrived and brought a second truck to remove the propane from the overturned truck, Edwards said.

A large tow truck was brought in to upright the truck and remove it from the crash site.

The operation to remove the truck lasted into the evening hours and closed South Sugan Road in the area of the wreck.

The chief said the crash remained under investigation as of Monday night.

The New Hope Eagle Fire Company, police, and county hazmat team were assisted by City of Lambertville Fire Department, Midway Fire Company, and Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad.
