Bucks County is set to receive heavy rainfall and strong winds starting Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast predicts that the county will receive between 1.5 to 2 inches of rain, with the possibility of up to 3 inches in some areas.

The incoming storm system will also bring wind gusts ranging from 25 to 35 mph.

The combination of heavy rain and gusty winds could lead to road closures and power outages, local officials cautioned. They have urged drivers to exercise caution while traveling during the storm.

The rain comes as Bucks County faces extreme and severe drought conditions, as reported by the U.S. Drought Monitor. The area has seen little significant rainfall since late September.

Temperatures are expected to drop sharply following the storm, with Wednesday’s high of 64 degrees giving way to highs in the high 30s and 40s starting Thursday and lasting into the next week.
