Solebury Township police have identified the driver killed in a Friday evening wreck.

Nicholas Camillo, 26, of Plumstead Township, was the man killed when his vehicle went off River Road (Route 32) near Chapel Road and into a tree.

“Preliminary investigation shows excessive speed as the factor of this vehicle crash,” police said Saturday.

The crash happened around 8:35 p.m. when the vehicle went off the southbound lanes and into the tree, police said.

The New Hope-Eagle Fire Company responded and firefighters removed Camillo, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was trapped inside.

Due to his injuries, Camillo was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information on the crash has been asked to contact police at 215-328-8511 or submit a tip through CrimeWatch.

In addition to Solebury Township police and New Hope-Eagle Fire Company crews, New Hope Borough police, the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad, and Central Bucks EMS assisted at the scene.
