The City of Lambertville isn’t among the municipalities that have been impacted by mysterious evening drone sightings, according to the city’s top cop.

Hunterdon County Sheriff Fred Brown and Hunterdon County Public Safety Director Brayden Fahey briefed the Hunterdon County Commissioners this week on drone sightings that have happened across New Jersey.

County officials confirmed in a statement that drone sightings have happened in Hunterdon County recently.

“We have not received any complaints of drone activity in Lambertville,” city police Lt. Robert Brown said.

Commissioner John Lanza said he wanted county officials to release information due to the incidents that have been reported across the central and northern part of the Garden State.

“There have been reports of single drones hovering over people’s houses for hours at a time. Other reports say the drones are often clustered together in groups as big as eight,” he said.

Brown said: “We are taking these sightings seriously and working closely with federal authorities to investigate and address any concerns. There have been confirmed drone sightings near Round Valley Reservoir and the Hunterdon County 9-1-1 Center.”

Brown and Fahey said the FBI is investigating the sightings.

Federal authorities have asked sightings to be reported to 1-800-CALL-FBI (800-235-5324).

The sheriff said quick reporting of sightings or related concerns can help law enforcement track the drones.

Congressman Tom Kean, a Republican who represents Hunterdon County, said in a statement that he was on a call with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, and other government and law enforcement officials as the drones are investigated.

“I will continue to push federal authorities to work swiftly to give the public a full understanding of the situation and work toward a resolution,” he said.

On social media, people have speculated that the drones are from pranksters, terrorist groups, foreign nations, and even other planets.

NJ.com reported that a mysterious drone last week stopped a medical transport helicopter from picking up a badly-injured crash victim in Somerset County.

Following the reports of swarms of unidentified drones in New Jersey recently, the Federal Aviation Administration put out two flight restrictions around Trump National Golf Club as well as U.S. Army’s Picatinny Arsenal.

While there are calls to Bucks County authorities of unknown drones at times, there have been no recent public reports related to the New Jersey sightings.
