Driver Killed In River Road Crash

The crash happened Friday.

A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a driver on Friday evening in Solebury Township, according to police.

The Solebury Township Police Department reported that officers were called to the scene on River Road (Route 32) near the intersection with Chapel Road at about 8:35 p.m.

The vehicle, which was headed southbound, veered off the road and collided with a tree, police said.

Firefighters from the New Hope-Eagle Fire Company worked to extricate the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was trapped inside.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The crash is under investigation by Solebury Township police.

Investigators have asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to come forward and contact police at 215-328-8511 or submit a tip through CrimeWatch.

Assistance at the scene was provided by the New Hope Borough police, the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad, and Central Bucks EMS.
