The streets of the City of Lambertville and New Hope Borough will be bustling with runners for the 9th annual Two Town Turkey Trot that kicks off Thanksgiving morning.
The event, which draws participants from around the region, is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Lambertville Station Parking Lot behind the hotel near the boat launch.
This year’s race will feature a staggered start to minimize congestion and increase safety due to ongoing construction on the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Support Bridge.
Spectators are advised that no pedestrian on-lookers will be allowed on the bridge during the race due to the construction.
A portion of the proceeds from the trot will benefit Fisherman’s Mark, a local nonprofit dedicated to assisting those in need. Runners are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations, according to organizers.
The event is sponsored by Corcoran Real Estate, the Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce, and a number of local businesses.
Road closures will be in effect in both the City of Lambertville and New Hope Borough during the race.
The bridge will be closed during the race.
In the city, closures will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and include Bridge Street from North Main Street to the bridge, Station Court from Bridge Street to the LMUA, Lambert Lane from Bridge Street to Coryell Street, Coryell Street from Lambert Lane to North Union Street, North Union Street from Bridge Street to Delaware Avenue, South Union Street from Ferry Street to Bridge Street, Delaware Avenue from North Union to George Street, and George Street from Delaware Avenue to Coryell Street.
In the borough, the closures will start around 8:15 a.m. and impact East Bridge Street, South Main Street, New Street, West Mechanic Street, the Staff Sgt. Karol R. Bauer Memorial Bridge, and West Ferry Street.
