The cause of the fire The Logan Inn has been ruled accidental, according to the lead investigator.

Details on what exactly sparked the Tuesday evening blaze were not released, but Bucks County Fire Marshal John Gundy determined the cause to be accidental.

Callers reported flames on the roof of The Logan Inn at West Ferry and South Main streets in New Hope Borough at 6:17 p.m., officials said.

The popular inn, restaurant, and bar was open at the time, and staff and customers were cleared from the building after the fire was reported.

Gundy said arriving police and firefighters found fire in a third-floor bathroom with flames extending to the roof.

Firefighters from Bucks and Hunterdon counties were able to hold the flames to the area of origin, but the inn suffered severe water damage, the fire marshal said.

According to dispatch records, a commanding officer with the New Hope-Eagle Fire Company placed the blaze under control at 7 p.m.
