Mayor Andrew Nowick will continue to lead Lambertville after having secured a second term in office after running unopposed in the general election.

Nowick, a Democrat who ran unopposed this year, first won office following a successful 2021 campaign.

According to unofficial results, Nowick received more than 91 percent of the vote and the rest were write-ins votes.

Nowick entered the political scene in 2021 and succeeded Julia Fahl, who chose not to seek reelection. Fahl had previously ousted long-serving Mayor David DelVecchio in the 2018 Democratic primary. DelVecchio had been a staple in local politics, serving Lambertville for nearly three decades.

Originally from Massachusetts and a former New York City resident, Nowick moved to Hunterdon County in 2004. He settled in Lambertville in 2011 with his husband and their three children.

Since taking office, Nowick has focused his efforts on managing city expenditures and enhancing the city’s stormwater infrastructure following the severe flooding in 2021 that inflicted significant damage on the riverfront community.
