VP Candidate Tim Walz Campaigning In Bucks County

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic candidate for vice president, will make a Halloween campaign stop in Lower Bucks County.

Walz, who is Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, will speak at the Boilermakers Local 13 Union Hall on New Falls Road near Newportville Road in Bristol Township, according to multiple sources.

The Harris-Walz campaign advised that an 11 a.m. Thursday event is part of a day of campaigning in the Keystone State, including a later stop in Erie. The campaign has not confirmed the location.

With election day right around the corner and mail-in voting in full swing, Walz will “underscore the stark contrast between Vice President Kamala Harris’ vision for a New Way Forward to lower costs and protect our freedoms, compared to Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda that would give Trump unprecedented and unchecked power over our lives, including raising costs by nearly $4,000 on hardworking Pennsylvanian families and banning abortion nationwide,” according to the Harris campaign.

Walz is expected to arrive in the region late Wednesday night and sleepover before heading to the Bristol Township event, sources said.

The visit will be the first campaign stop in Bucks County for Walz and follows recent stops by Harris, former President Donald Trump, and Trump’s running mate U.S. Sen. JD Vance.

As with the past stops, heavy security is expected for Walz’s visit and traffic delays will be caused by his U.S. Secret Service motorcade.

The Pennsylvania State Police advised that there could be traffic delayed and road closures are likely Wednesday between 10 p.m. and midnight on I-295, Route 1, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. On Thursday, delays are expected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Route 1 in Bensalem Township and I-295 in Lower Makefield Township.

Pennsylvania is seen as a key state for both the Harris and Trump campaigns to win.

Bucks County was won by Democrats in 2016 and 2020, but Republicans believe there is a chance that Trump could win the county.
