Pennsylvania State Police Troop M conducted a comprehensive traffic enforcement operation on Tuesday covering Lehigh, Northampton, and Bucks counties, according to troopers.

The operation also led to two arrests for driving under the influence (DUI) and two for drug possession. Additionally, one individual was apprehended on an outstanding warrant, troopers said.

The day of ramped up enforcement was part of a broader effort to enhance roadway safety through visible enforcement, according to a statement from the state police.

“The objective of this operation was to conduct aggressive, visible enforcement resulting in increased highway safety,” the statement said.

State police also took the opportunity to remind motorists of the legal consequences of fleeing from law enforcement.
