Firefighters from New Hope and Solebury worked to control a large brush fire along River Road on Monday.
The fire happened amid dry conditions and gusty winds across the region.
The blaze, which occurred on a stretch of River Road (Route 32) between Aquetong Road and Windy Bush Road (Route 232), prompted the closure of the roadway, according to Solebury Township police.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as crews battled the flames. The road later reopened.
The incident was one of a series of brush fires that have erupted in both Bucks and Hunterdon counties over the past two days.
The National Weather Service reported that the area has not received any measurable rainfall since late September, creating prime conditions for brush fires.
In addition to Monday’s efforts, the New Hope Eagle Fire Company provided assistance on Sunday at another major brush fire in Middletown Township.
