The Lambertville Historical Society and Bike Lambertville are set to host the annual Roll and Stroll event to explore the historic area on two wheels.
From 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, participants will enjoy a leisurely bike ride along a 4-mile route encompassing the towpath and quiet streets of Lambertville. A docent from the Lambertville Historical Society will accompany the group, providing insights into the historical significance of various buildings and canal features along the way.
This year’s event offers an opportunity to explore areas of Lambertville not covered by the traditional walking tours offered by the historical society.
After the initial ride, there will be an optional six-mile extension to the Prallsville Mills site in nearby Stockton Borough.
Riders are scheduled to gather at the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum at 1605 Daniel Bray Highway at 1:15 p.m. Departure is at 1:30 p.m., with the event concluding around 4 p.m.
The museum, which is also open to visitors on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., provides ample free parking and serves as the starting and ending point of the tour.
Event organizers remind all participants to bring a road-ready bike, a properly fitted helmet, and water, and to wear appropriate layered clothing to accommodate weather changes.
For those interested in joining the Roll and Stroll, registration is required. Potential participants should reach out via email to PaulMickFit@gmail.com for more information.
