Hunterdon County Hosting Free Electronic Waste Recycling Event

Hunterdon County residents looking to dispose of old electronics can do so at no cost this weekend at the county’s free electronic waste recycling event.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hunterdon County Route 12 (Library) Complex at 314 State Route 12 East in Flemington.

Items accepted at the recycling drive include televisions, computers and their components, laptops, power cords, keyboards, mice, speakers, routers, modems, printers, copiers, fax machines, toner and ink cartridges, stereo equipment, Blu-Ray and DVD players, VCRs, cable boxes, telephones, cell phones, answering machines, gaming consoles, cameras, remote controls, typewriters, and miscellaneous electronic devices. The collection will also accept air conditioners and dehumidifiers.

Organizers noted that refrigerators, wooden speakers, and hazardous waste will not be accepted.

The program is designed to provide residents with a convenient and environmentally responsible way to dispose of electronic waste.
