Solebury & Buckingham Police Conduct Safety Checks On Commercial Vehicles

In the morning hours of last Monday, police officers from Solebury and Buckingham township performed a safety inspection detail on commercial vehicles.

The two-township enforcement initiative was part of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s Brake Safety Week, which is aimed at ensuring the proper function of brake systems on large vehicles.

During the operation, 10 trucks underwent thorough inspections to verify compliance with safety standards, police said.

Results from the detail revealed that 60 percent of the vehicles inspected were free of any violations.

Four trucks were cited for various safety infractions, including inoperable brakes and the absence of an oversize load permit, police said.

Local authorities praised the efforts of compliant drivers and fleet owners.

“Thanks to all the drivers and owners who meticulously maintain their vehicles, keeping us all safe,” police said.
