Police Log: Report Of Defecating Men, Sgt. De-escalates Dispute & More

July 9

Trespassing

At approximately 11:09 a.m., a 46-year-old Lambertville man was arrested and charged with defiant trespassing. He was released with a court date of August 15. Sergeant Memolo was the arresting officer. 

Criminal Mischief

At approximately 2:43 p.m., patrol responded to a business on South Main Street for a report of eggs thrown at the building. Sergeant Memolo is the investigating officer.

July 12

Arrest

At approximately 2:55 p.m., a 42-year-old Lambertville man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Lambertville Municipal Court. The man was unable to post bail and was subsequently lodged in jail as a result. Patrolman Brown is the arresting officer. 

July 13

Open Containers

At approximately 4:10 p.m., patrol responded to the wing dam on the Delaware River for individuals grilling and possibly taking a posted sign. Investigation revealed a 37-year-old Trenton man was found to have been grilling and having open containers of alcoholic beverages in his possession. The man was charged for having open containers of an alcoholic beverage in public as well as interference with a police officer.  Patrolman Brown investigated. 

July 15

Disturbance

At approximately 5:33 a.m., patrol responded to a residence on North Main Street for a dispute over property. Upon arrival, it was quickly determined an altercation had occurred between two parties and the situation was quickly de-escalated and resolved without further incident. Sergeant Gramlich investigated.

July 17

Criminal Mischief

At approximately 9:42 a.m., patrol investigated criminal mischief to merchandise at a business on Lambert Lane.  Sergeant Memolo is investigating. 

July 19

Open Containers

At 8:07 p.m., patrol was detailed to the area tow path behind the Basil Bandwagon, located off of North Union Street for a report of three men drinking. It was also advised they were observed pooping a foot off of the tow path as well as peeing on items right by the wooden fence. Upon arrival, an officer located two men sitting on the grass area just west of the tow path behind Canal Studios. It was apparent they had been consuming alcoholic beverages as they were visibly intoxicated; however, they were cooperative. Although there was a language barrier, the a 34-year-old Lambertville man and 31-year-old Lambertville man were found in possession of open containers of an alcoholic beverage in public. Both denied urinating and defecating in the area. It was also unknown where the third man went. Sergeant Gramlich and Corporal Wurpel investigated.  

July 29

Arrest

At approximately 3:51 p.m., a 38-year-old Hillsborough, New Jersey, man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of West Windsor Municipal Court. He was turned over to West Windsor police. Patrolman Bereheiko is the arresting officer. 

July 25

Criminal Mischief

At approximately 2:30 p.m., a resident on North Main Street reported items in the back yard of their property were intentionally damaged. Patrolman Brown investigated.

August 1

Fraud

At approximately 2 p.m., a resident from George Street reported their social media account being compromised and fraudulently used by someone to obtain benefits. Detective Corporal Bast is investigating.

August 5

Attempted Fraud

At approximately 2:21 a.m., a business owner on North Union Street reported receiving a telephone call from a male advising they worked for PSE&G and that the power would be shut off due to unpaid bills.  A substantial amount of money was requested to not shut the power off. The reporting party later determined that the payment would be received through a Bitcoin machine and became suspicious. The incident was quickly determined to be a scam and there was no loss. Sergeant Gramlich investigated.
