The remnants of Hurricane Debby are expected to unleash severe weather conditions in the area, including heavy rain, strong winds, and the possibility of tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters warn that the main threat of rain will occur on Friday, with the county expected to get 1 to 2 inches of rainfall and potentially higher amounts in localized areas.

The storm will also bring winds ranging from 15 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph.

A Flood Watch, Tornado Watch, Coastal Flood Advisory, and Wind Advisory have all been issued for Friday as the system impacts the area.

In addition to the heavy rains and winds, there is a risk of spotty coastal flooding along the Delaware River from Trenton to Bristol Township.

Officials urged residents to avoid driving through flooded roads or moving past barriers signaling road closures. According to the National Weather Service, more than half of all flood-related fatalities occur in vehicles.

The latest bout of bad weather follows a week of heavy rainfall.
