Wine enthusiasts and history buffs will gather along the scenic Delaware River for the 7th Annual Wine on the Waterfront on Saturday, July 27.

The event will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the park at 1112 River Road in Upper Makefield Township.

The event promises an afternoon of fine wines, live jazz, and serene river views. It is all in support of Washington Crossing Historic Park.

General admission tickets are priced at $40, offering attendees a complimentary wine glass and tastings of one-ounce wine samples from renowned local vineyards. Designated drivers can enjoy the ambiance and entertainment for a reduced fee of $15. Tickets must be purchased in advance as they will not be available at the gate.

This year’s festival will feature both returning favorites such as Crossing Vineyards and Sand Castle Winery, and newcomers like Cyrenity Sips Winery and Paradocx Vineyard.

For the first time, wine will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or case, either to be enjoyed on-site or taken home.

“Wine on the Waterfront is such a special event, one I look forward to each year. It showcases all the fabulous wine, nature, music, and history of our area in a beautiful setting. If all that weren’t enough, all the proceeds from this event also go towards an incredible cause. It’s your chance to give back while having a great time!” said Jennifer Martin, executive director of The Friends of Washington Crossing Park.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to relax on the grassy banks of the river, near the historic Hibbs House Kitchen Garden. The park offers relaxing backdrop for enjoying food from local vendors like Goodnoe Farm Ice Cream and Local Harvest Pizza.

Adding to the festivities will be live performances by Philadelphia-based jazz musician Hailey Brinnel and her quartet. Brinnel, a notable trombonist and vocalist, has gained international acclaim and was featured on Spotify’s ‘Best Vocal Jazz’ playlists in 2022 and 2023.
