New Hope Borough Hall will be getting fresh roofing.

A roofing restoration project at the borough building was unanimously approved by New Hope Borough Council at a recent council meeting.

The roofing project will entail removing and disposing 5,600 square feet of asphalt and shingles and replacing it with new material. The project will also include the removal and replacement of a drippy faucet, officials explained.

Vertex Roofing is contracted to complete the roofing project, and it will cost $70,300.

Vertex Roofing will have 30 days to complete the roofing project after the notice to proceed is issued, per the terms of the contract.

Borough council members received four bids for this project, ranging in prices from $70,300 to upwards of $160,000.

After one of the roofing companies withdrew their bid, council members elected to choose Vertex Roofing with the recommendation of New Hope Borough’s engineer.

New Hope Borough Hall is an old church that was repurposed for government uses, such as council meetings, zoning meetings, and and to house municipal department.
