Solebury Supervisors Celebrate Police, Swear In New Chief

The township recognized its officers, new chief, and former chief.

The Solebury Township Board of Supervisors celebrated its police department and swore in its new chief Tuesday evening.

Before a packed crowd, District Judge Maggie Snow swore in Kelley Warner as the new chief of police for Solebury Township.

Warner, who was a member of the Abington Township Police Department for more than 30 years and rose to the rank of deputy chief, most recently served as the chief of police for the Harrisonburg, Virginia, Police Department. Warner holds a master’s degree in criminal justice and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Detective Cpl. Jonathan Koretzky, a 24-year veteran of the force, was promoted to the rank of detective sergeant, and Ryan Roach was sworn in as the township’s newest patrol officer.

Roach joined the police department after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieving the rank of corporal. He is a graduate of the Montgomery County Community College Municipal Police Academy and is a Solebury Township resident.

Chiefs from several departments across Bucks County attended to watch Warner’s swearing-in.

Warner, a resident of Buckingham Township, joins the ranks as one of the few female police chiefs in Bucks County. The only other female chief currently serving is Tinicum Township Police Chief Nicole Madden.

The supervisors also recognized recently-retired police Chief Dominick Bellizzie for his 18 years of service.

Supervisors Chairperson Mark Baum Baicker praised Bellizzie for modernizing the department, providing excellent service to residents, and diversifying the agency that patrols 27 square miles.

Additionally, the supervisors acknowledged New Hope Borough Police Chief Kevin Edwards, who recently retired as a sergeant from Solebury Township.

The celebration continued with Bellizzie handing out awards to all department officers, including K-9 Blitz. The awards highlighted the officers dedication and service to the community.
