The New Hope Celebrates Pride Pageant is set to dazzle audiences once more.

The fourth annual event later this month promises glamour, talent, and fierce competition among drag queens and kings vying for the titles of Miss and Mr. New Hope Celebrates.

The “Glamazon Reign Forest” themed pageant will light up the Bucks County Playhouse on Sunday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will support the upcoming 2024 Pride celebrations.

“I don’t know how we can top last year, but I’m so excited to find out! Our contestants this year really are at the top of their game and I cannot wait to see what they bring to the competition and how they will represent New Hope Celebrates,” said Melissa Patterson, president of New Hope Celebrates.

This year, the pageant will see Eva Guasconi, vice president of communications for New Hope Celebrates, taking on the role of stage manager.

“I am so excited to play a role behind the scenes at this iconic theater and to experience what each contestant brings to make this an unforgettable night,” said Guasconi.

Contestants will battle it out in various categories including presentation, talent, formal wear, and an onstage Q&A, in hopes of ascending to drag royalty. The victors will not only hold the title of Miss and Mr. New Hope Celebrates but will also serve as featured entertainers at all key New Hope Celebrates events throughout 2024, receiving compensation valued at a total of $1,000 each.

Judging the competition: former New Hope Celebrates Board Member and head judge Jenn Wohl, local drag stars Miss Pumpkin and Morgan Kennedy, Keri Osmond, Chief of Staff to U.S. House Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Brian Sims, Managing Director at OUT Leadership and Pennsylvania’s first openly gay state legislator.

Marti Cummings, a prominent NYC drag artist, television personality, and political figure, returns as the Mistress of Ceremonies, joined by past and present titleholders, ensuring a night filled with entertainment and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.

Tickets are priced at $55 for general admission and $75 for VIP seating, which includes a pre-show social at The Deck Restaurant and Bar featuring light hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a meet and greet with former pageant queens starting at 4 p.m. VIP guests also enjoy two complimentary drinks.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Bucks County Playhouse website.
