Drivers on Monday encountered traffic disruptions due to emergency repair efforts in the City of Lambertville.
The work was being undertaken by Veolia in response to a broken valve at the busy intersection of Church and North Main streets.
The unscheduled repair work, which started in the afternoon, led to delays for drivers in the area, city officials posted on social media.
The issue resulted in a temporary disruption of water service for some customers. Specifically, residents and businesses located on North Main Street between York Street and Church Street, as well as those on Coryell Street between North Main Street and North Franklin Street, and on Church Street between North Main Street and North Union Street, were impacted while repairs were ongoing.
Officials have announced that the repair work is anticipated to continue until approximately 9 p.m. Monday.
The city warned of “significant” traffic delays as a result of the work.
“Please avoid the area if possible,” city officials advised.
