Local artisan ice cream shop Owowcow Creamery has unveiled a limited batch, Philadelphia Phillies-inspired ice cream aptly named “RED OCTOBER.”
Crafted to tantalize taste buds and celebrate the Phillies’ playoff bid, the Tastykake-inspired butterscotch ice cream boasts chunks of vanilla sponge cake, dark chocolate-covered pretzel clusters, and is swirled generously with red “brotherly love” sprinkles, according to the business.
“We are so excited to be celebrating the Phillies making it into the playoffs by clinching the top wild-card spot in the National League,” said Shira Tizer Wade, Owowcow’s managing director. “Who could resist such a tasty frozen treat?”
The Red October flavor launches on Tuesday.
The launch is timed to line up with Phillies’ first playoff game at Citizen’s Bank Park.
All five Owowcow locations are selling the flavor in pints or by the scoop.
In the City of Lambertville, Owowcow is located on North Union Street.
