The Hicks Art Center Gallery at the Bucks County Community College will team up with the Bucks-Mont Astronomy Association (BMAA) for a Star Watch event on August 22.
This free public event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Newtown Township campus.
The Star Watch coincides with the gallery’s current exhibit, “Astronomical: Gazing Inward & Beyond.”
The exhibit will be introduced with a guided tour led by Exhibitions Associate Clifford Eberly at 6 p.m. Joining the tour will be contributing artists Katelyn B. Knight, Christine McHugh, Andrea Wallace, and Bucks County Community College faculty member Caren Friedman.
Attendees will have the chance to grab a bite from the Thai Cha Chak Food Truck, which will be parked outside the Hicks Art Center. The truck offers a variety of authentic Thai dishes and beverages.
As the sun sets, Bucks-Mont Astronomy Association club members will set up telescopes for participants to use.
Members will also be on hand to answer questions about astronomy and telescope usage. Guests are encouraged to bring their own telescopes or binoculars, if they have them, as well as blankets and lawn chairs for seating comfort.
For the safety and comfort of all participants, and to protect the delicate equipment, organizers request that attendees leave pets at home.
