New Hope Borough’s annual road improvement program is set to begin in August.
The schedule for the paving work was announced recently by the borough.
The first phase of the project will occur from August 7 to 9. The phase will cover West Ferry Street, spanning from Stockton Avenue to West Bridge Street.
The second phase will take place the following week, from August 14 to 18. The phase will include improvements to Mechanic Street, Stoney Hill Road, South Sugan Road, and Turnberry Way.
Despite the ongoing construction, the borough has assured residents that the roads will remain open during the improvement work.
However, the borough also cautioned that backups and delays are expected.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area, or to plan an alternate route to avoid potential congestion, officials said.
This road improvement program was approved by the New Hope Borough Council in March. The borough signed an $83,000 contract with Haines Paving, of Northampton Township, in March for the 2023 road program.
