Don’t forget to move your vehicle during the scheduled time for the street sweeper in the City of Lambertville.

City officials posted online that the annual warm-weather tradition returns this week.

Monday was planned to be the initial outing of the street sweeper for 2023, but a cracked windshield led to a delay in kickoff.

The street sweeper will run between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Mondays through Fridays in the downtown area. A specific list of streets and times has been posted on the city website.

The city warns motorists to move their vehicles when scheduled to avoid a ticket.

City officials ask residents to not move their vehicles back until the street sweeper passes the block for the second time.

The street sweeper works to clean up the city by removing dirt, broken glass, leaves, and other small debris.

The street sweeper, which doesn’t run in the winter, operates in the spring, summer, and fall during sun, clouds, light rain or fog, but it doesn’t operate in heavy rain.

“Keeping streets clean of debris is also smart water management, reducing impediments to proper stormwater management,” the city has said in the past.
