Local residents can help keep New Hope and Solebury beautiful this month by volunteering to spruce up area roadsides.
The Aquetong Watershed Association (AWA) has rescheduled its annual spring cleanup community service event for Saturday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.
“The AWA has each year organized a roadside litter cleanup event, for which the AWA has enlisted the help of volunteers from the community,” explained event organizer Brian Keyes. “The 50 or so large garbage bags of litter that we pick up not only helps maintain the visual beauty of our watershed, but helps to preserve the quality of water that ultimately finds its way into the streams, aquifer and Delaware River.”
The event will be contactless and follow all CDC guidelines, organizers said. Gloves, safety vests, trash bags, and road assignments will be provided.
Register to volunteer for the event online.
A rain date has been scheduled for Oct 18, and additional details will be emailed.
The mission of the AWA is to conserve, preserve and restore the natural resources of the Aquetong Watershed.
