Indivisible Lambertville/New Hope, Sunrise Hunterdon County and Sunrise Lambertville this week announced an environmental art exhibition to celebrate and heighten environmental awareness.
“Love Mother Earth 2020” will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, at Prallsville Mills, in Stockton, N.J. The event is free to the public, although donations are encouraged.
Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to display environmentally-focused art in any medium, said organizers. Submissions must express an environmental theme, such as promoting good stewardship of the planet or using recycled materials. Applications to exhibit must be received by Feb. 15, and are available online. Environmental and youth organizations may also apply for a table at the event to promote their mission using the same form.
Set up for display and rehearsals for live performances will be on Friday, Feb. 28. All framed art should be properly wired for hanging, and posters and submissions on paper may be hung in clothesline fashion.
Artists who wish to sell their work can leave price and contact information with their piece, arrange for a direct sale with the buyer, and/or donate the proceeds to an environmental organization of their choice. Artists should also plan to pick up unsold work at the end of the exhibition, or make arrangements in advance to donate to an environmental organization.
The Prallsville Mills are located at 33 Risler St. (Rte 29) in Stockton, five miles north of Lambertville and New Hope.
