YMCA of Bucks County to offer child care services to families in New Hope-Solebury

YMCA of Bucks County will offer child care services to families in the New Hope-Solebury School District and surrounding area starting Aug. 23 as it finalizes its purchase of the Clubhouse for Kids Only, Inc.

The Clubhouse for Kids Only, located at 2712 N. Sugan Road in Solebury Township, serves children ages 18 months to 5 years of age and provides extended day programs for K to 7th graders in the New Hope-Solebury School District.

Trish Feinthel, chief operating officer of YMCA of Bucks County, and Darcy Van Orden, owner and founder of the Clubhouse for Kids Only, Inc., said in a joint announcement that they are working with the school district leadership to seamlessly transition the extended day program offered at both the Upper and Lower Elementary Schools.

“Being ready to retire, I wanted to sell the Clubhouse to an individual or organization that would continue our high standards and care for the families and staff as I do,” said Van Orden. “I’m thrilled that the Y will be continuing with a mission that matches that of the Clubhouse.”

The Y will operate both programs with staff remaining in their current roles. Students enrolled in the programs will receive a free youth membership to the Y.

“We are so excited to begin serving youth and families in the New Hope-Solebury area and to begin working with such a caring team of teachers and staff,” said Feinthel.

YMCA of Bucks County currently operates Youth Education Centers in Fairless Hills, Morrisville, New Britain, Newtown, and Quakertown. The Y also provides before and after school care to families in the Bristol, Pennsbury, Morrisville, Neshaminy, and Quakertown school districts.

Registration for immediate openings and fall programs is available.
