“Next to Normal” opens the 72nd season at Town and Country Players, continuing the theatre company’s trend toward offering Bucks County audiences compelling, thought-provoking productions.
The 2010 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, “Next to Normal” explores the ever-changing dynamic of the modern American family — a theme popularized in plays like Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman” and Eugene O’Neill’s “A Long Day’s Journey into Night.”
In the Tony Award-winning musical “Next to Normal,” we meet the Goodman Family, whose daily struggles and triumphs will challenge audiences to answer the question, “In this day and age, what is normal?”
The cast is led by T&C veteran Melissa Schiumo playing Diane Goodman, and also includes Brian
Kelly as Dan Goodman, Nicole Telesco as Natalie Goodman, Jon Yankanich as Gabe Goodman,
Adam Zucal as Henry and newcomer Sean Matthew O’Neill as Doctor Fine and Dr. Madden.
Director Nancy Ridgeway leads the creative team and cast of this production. Ridgeway is known for her directing work on noted Town and Country favorites like “Sweeney Todd” and “August: Osage County.”
Town and Country Players will host talkbacks after the April 28 and May 5 Sunday matinees,
moderated by the show’s Co-Dramaturg, Dr. Caity Logan.
