The 15th Annual High Heel Drag Race sponsored by New Hope Celebrates delighted crowds on Sunday in New Hope.
Contestants in Halloween costumes donned high heels and dashed up the hill on West Mechanic Street carrying pumpkins at around 5:30 p.m.. At the top of the hill, they decorated their pumpkins, then raced back downhill to the finish line.
The event also featured a raffle and live performances by New Hope celebrities Miss Pumpkin, Thunder Showers, and Summer Clearance.
“We are grateful to keep this long-standing tradition alive,” said New Hope Celebrates President Matt Hanson.
The Logan Inn at 10 W. Ferry St. at press time was hosting a glamorous after-race party where winners were to be announced at 7:30 p.m.
Each year, the High Heel Drag Race kicks off the official Halloween holiday season in New Hope, Pennsylvania’s most haunted town.
