Police have tied Wednesday morning’s fire that was intentionally set at the HomeStarr Realty office at 6089 Route 202 in Solebury Township to a suspicious Aug. 2 blaze at the historic Victorian Neely House on River Road.
“There’s a strong connection between the two fires, and they’re being investigated together,” said Solebury Police Detective/Corporal Jonathan Koretzky.
He wouldn’t comment further on the specifics of the connection, but noted that both structures are easily accessed from the road. Both buildings are also historic stone structures located on a state highway.
Arson investigators typically pay close attention at a scene to the presence of any accelerants, such as gasoline, along with signs of tampered utilities and specific burn patterns.
An Aug. 1 fire at an unoccupied dwelling at the 1100 block of Taylorsville Road in Upper Makefield was ruled an accidental electrical fire by the local fire marshal, but sources say that investigators of the Solebury fires have it on their radar as a potentially related incident.
Solebury police, Midway Fire Company and Central Bucks EMS were dispatched at 6:50 a.m. to Wednesday’s fire at the HomeStarr Realty office at 6089 Route 202.
The blaze is the second incident of suspected arson this month in Solebury Township. A fire Aug. 2 at the historic Victorian Neely House on River Road was also intentionally set.
Solebury police are asking anyone with information on either fire to call (215) 348-7400.
