The Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition is seeking entries for its 26th annual competition, and has selected a panel of jurors to choose the images – and prize winners – for the show scheduled for June 2-24.
The exhibition’s theme since the first exhibition has remained “Photography as Art” and
“Photographer as Artist.” Photographers are encouraged to submit a current body of work created within the past five years. Images may be in any photographic medium, from historic to alternative and digital, in order to best represent the artist’s creative expression.
The exhibition draws entries from hobbyists and professional artists from
around the country. More than half a dozen financial awards are presented, including a prize for “Best of Show.”

Entries may be shipped by May 8 to PMPE Entries, 358 Cafferty Road, Pipersville Pa., 18947. Submissions may also be hand delivered to Phillips’ Mill Community Association, 2619 River Road, New Hope, on May 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 12. There is no limit to the number of submissions.
Entry fee is $42 for up to four images, and $10 for each additional image submitted. PMPE also accepts matted and covered images for non-juried portfolio bins. Up to four images can be submitted free of charge; the fee is $10 for each additional image. All work submitted for the exhibition must be available for sale.
Following submission dates, jurors will review the pool of several hundred images, and pare it down to about 150 images. This year’s jurors are past Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition award-winning photographers Wendy Brusca, Valerie Pfaff and Henry Rowan.
Wendy Brusca has more than 30 years of experience in large format and digital photography using darkroom and digital processes. She uses her art to communicate her innermost feelings and is passionate about places that have long been forgotten, where she feels a connection to its history. Brusca’s images have been exhibited and reside in permanent collections in the U.S., Europe, and Australia.

Valerie Pfaff has been exhibiting her work for nearly 30 years and has won numerous awards. Her passion for art and photography was nurtured by studies at several universities,
including an MA in Art Education from Arcadia University. She taught Art and Photography in
local schools, and was head of the Art Department in the Lower Moreland School District.
Henry Rowan is a national award-winning photographer and executive director of the
Pennsylvania Center for Photography. He is a frequent lecturer and judge throughout the region, and teaches workshops at the center. He is known for his distinctive style of portraiture and unique portrayal of “manscapes,” nature and sports.
