Delaware River Towns invited runners to work off some pre-Thanksgiving dinner calories at their Second Annual Two Town Turkey Trot Thursday morning, and hundreds heeded the call.
The streets of Lambertville and New Hope were filled with runners at 8 a.m. working up an appetite for turkey. Proceeds from the 5-kilometer Two Town Turkey Trot road race and 1-mile health walk benefited Delaware River Towns and Fisherman’s Mark, a local non-profit organization that serves those in need.
The race began and ended at Lambertville Station, and the course took runners across the historic Lambertville-New Hope free bridge, through the streets of downtown New Hope, thenback across the bridge and through Lambertville’s historic downtown business district. Runners were electronically chip timed say race organizers, and prizes were awarded to the winners.
Course marshaling was provided by the Lambertville and New Hope police departments and volunteers.
