Eveland Ringel, née Linda Ruth Eveland, 72, of Lambertville, passed away on Oct. 5 in the home she built, surrounded by friends and family.
Born in Holyoke, Mass., in 1945, Eve held a B.A. from Ithaca College and two master’s degrees from Rutgers University. She proudly served as a school social worker for the Council Rock School District for over 30 years. Eve had an enormous breadth of knowledge of resources for students and families in the community. She worked with great compassion and energy to help students make positive life choices, taking a personal interest in every child whose life she touched.
An advocate, a dancer, a lover of books, music and wine, a traveler, an unapologetic liberal, a gardener, a feminist, a knitter, Eve lived a life full of many passions. She spent her retirement snorkeling in oceans around the world and volunteering at home with the Lambertville Food Pantry and Indivisible Lambertville/New Hope.
Her death was preceeded by her mother Ruth Eveland, and she is survived by her father George Eveland, an incredible group of friends, her children Jonah and Jodianna Ringel, and grandsons Joey and Kaleb, who gave Eve her favorite role of all – grandma.
A celebration of Eve’s life will take place at the Deer Park Camp & Retreat Center dining hall on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lambertville Food Pantry.
