The New Hope-Solebury Community Association is celebrating 60 years of the New Hope Auto Show with a weekend celebration from Friday, Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug. 13.
Due to construction at the New Hope-Solebury school campus, the New Hope Automobile Show will be one day only this year: Sunday, Aug. 13. But the show remains a full-weekend affair with the addition of two major events.
It all kicks off Friday, Aug. 11, with the Whitewall Black Tie Cocktail Party featuring Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra at Hotel du Village. Tickets to the Whitewall Black Tie Cocktail Party are $125 per person.
Events continue Saturday, Aug. 12, with a Vintage & Classic Road Rally open to all wishing to take their vehicles to the open road for a non-timed adventure. Sunday, Aug. 13, brings New Hope Automobile Show itself, held on the grounds of the New Hope-Solebury High School at 180 W. Bridge St., in New Hope. Awards are presented to first, second, and third-place winners in over 50 categories. At 2:30 pm, winners participate in the Parade of Champions. All vehicles entered must be judge-ready.
“We’re known for presenting a completely different show each day,” said Steve Williams, a committee member of the New Hope Automobile Show. “Due to the construction at the school, this year we’re presenting two shows in one day. With the Whitewall Black Tie Cocktail Party and the Vintage Road Rally, it’s a great way to spend a weekend.”
Proceeds provide funds for scholarships to New Hope-Solebury High School seniors as well as cancer research at Fox Chase Cancer Center. The show also supports other charitable organizations by partnering with them during the show, with many providing volunteers to help produce the show.
