The Solebury Township Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Route 202 on Friday.
“We’re conducting an investigation in conjunction with the Buck’s County District Attorney’s office,” Solebury Police Detective/Corporal Jonathan Koretzky said Saturday.
He confirmed that police responded to a two-vehicle crash Friday at 2:20 p.m. on Route 202, just south of Aquetong Road. A 2013 Toyota Camry sedan had apparently been traveling northbound on Route 202 when it was rear-ended by a 2002 Ford F250 pick-up truck.
The Camry’s driver, whose name is being withheld by authorities pending notification of the family, was a 66-year-old female from Solebury Township. Tragically, her 71-year-old male passenger, also of Solebury, died from his injuries. Both had received “serious and critical injuries” from the crash, and had been transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne for treatment.
The operator of the Ford F250, described by police as a 36-year-old male from Solebury, sustained minor injuries from the incident.
“We’re asking for any witnesses who observed the crash, or the vehicles just prior to the crash, to all us at (215) 348-7400,” said Koretzky.
Solebury Township police said they were assisted at the crash site by Buckingham Township Police, Midway Fire Company and Central Bucks EMS. Police also said that they would release “additional information” at a later date.
Koretzky will need all the help he can get.
