Case #17002242
On Monday, March 14, at approximately 9:49 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Route 29 northbound at mile marker 18.4. The pedestrian, identified as James Class, age 47, of Lambertville, was standing in the slow lane attempting to stop traffic to allow his wife to exit their driveway. Class was wearing dark clothes and was not equipped with any illumination device.
The driver, identified as Thomas Allen, Jr., age 42, also of Lambertville, was traveling North on Route 29 in the slow lane when he observed a vehicle backing into the roadway. Allen moved into the fast lane to avoid the vehicle; simultaneously, Class moved from the slow lane into the fast lane to avoid Allen’s vehicle. Allen attempted to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful, causing Allen’s vehicle to strike Class.
Speed did not appear to be a factor, and there was no indication that alcohol was involved.

Frank Roche, 56, of Flemington, N.J. was arrested on Sunday, March 12, at 1:38 a.m., for DUI.
While on patrol, Lt. Brown observed Roche’s vehicle traveling in the area of Route 165, failing to keep right and speeding. Lt. Brown stopped Roche in the area of Route 29 and Weeden Street. Subsequent to investigation, Roche was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was placed under arrest. Lt. Brown charged Roche with DUI, Speeding, Failure to Keep Right, and Careless Driving. Roche was later released with a pending court date.
Case #17002040
Henry Kaitel, 29, of Trenton, was arrested on Tuesday, March 7, at 12:56 a.m., for possession of prescription medication not properly contained in a prescription bottle.
While on patrol, Ptl. Bast observed Kaitel’s vehicle traveling in the area of Bridge Street with a brake light out. In addition, a random plate inquiry on the vehicle revealed the registered owner to have an active ATS warrant out of Trenton. Ptl. Bast stopped Kaitel in the area of Route 29 and the Riverwalk Complex.
Subsequent to investigation, Kaitel was found to have an active ATS warrant out of Trenton for $325. In addition, search incident to arrest found Kaitel to be in possession of a small pink container with two pills. Kaitel was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Prescription Medication Not Properly Contained in a Prescription Bottle, and was processed for the warrant. Additionally, Kaitel was issued motor vehicle summonses for Revoked Touring Privileges, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. Kaitel was unable to post bail, and an ROR form was attached to the warrant. Kaitel was later released with a pending court date.
Case #17001468:
Kyle A. Fryling, 47, of Pipersville, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 8:15 a.m. for an active warrant.
On Feb. 15, the New Jersey State Police (Kingwood) contacted Lt. Brown and advised they had Fryling in custody on an active ATS warrant out of Lambertville in the amount of $320. Frying was transported to police headquarters where he was taken into custody by Lt. Brown and processed for the arrest. He was unable to post bail in full and an ROR was placed on the warrant. Fryling was later released with a pending court date.
Case #17001434:
John R. Zinevich, 55, of Hampton, N.J., was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 3:08 a.m. for Possession of CDS.
While on patrol, Ptl. Pascoe observed Zinevich’s vehicle traveling in the area of State Highway 165 and Swan Street with a license plate light out. In addition, a random plate inquiry on Zinevich’s vehicle showed the registration to be expired. Ptl. Pascoe stopped Zinevich in the area of State Highway 179 and Old York Road.
Subsequent to investigation, Zinevich was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and a wooden stash box “one hitter” with suspected marijuana residue. Zinevich was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Expired Registration. Zinevich was later released with a pending court date.

Antonio A. Mendez, 28, of Topeka, Kan., was charged on Saturday, Feb. 11, for Theft by Deception.
On July 5, 2016, a resident reported being alerted by their bank that someone had attempted to hack their bank account unsuccessfully. The resident then found a fraudulent check in his name to have been cashed in Kansas. Subsequent to investigation, Mendez was found to have cashed the check fraudulently. He was charged with Theft by Deception, Forgery, and Forgery Writing. Mendez was mailed complaint summonses with a pending court date. Det. Albani investigated.
West Amwell
On March 11, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Corporal Sellner stopped a vehicle on Route 202 just north of Wertsville Road for a motor vehicle violation. As Corporal Sellner spoke with the driver, a 17-year-old male from Phillipsburg N.J., he observed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After an investigation, Corporal Sellner also located Marijuana, Possession of Alcohol by a Minor, and issued several motor vehicle summons. After processing, the juvenile was released with a court date to an adult.
On March 10, at approximately 5:04 p.m., Corporal Jonathan Sellner stopped a vehicle on Route 579 in Ringoes, N.J., for a traffic violation. A computer check showed that the driver, Colleen Coghlan (a 29-year-old female from Piscataway, N.J.), was a wanted fugitive from Bucks County, and had an outstanding bench warrant from Hunterdon County, N.J. Coghlan was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending extradition.
On March 10, at approximately 7:23 p.m., Sergeant Edward Skillman was dispatched to the area of Route 179 near Kari Drive for a non-injury motor vehicle accident. As Sergeant Skillman spoke with one of the drivers, William Falkenthal (a 75-year-old male from Rosemont, N.J.), he observed that Falkenthal was intoxicated. Falkenthal was arrested, charged, and released after processing with a court date.
On March 6, at approximately 10:38 p.m,. Patrolman Joseph Cesare stopped a vehicle on Route 179 for a traffic violation. As Patrolman Cesare spoke with the driver, Edwin Mendoza (a 28-year-old male from Trenton), he observed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After an investigation, Mr. Mendoza was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. After processing, Mr. Mendoza was released with a court date.
On March 1, at approximately 5:01 p.m., Patrolman Cory Flemming stopped a vehicle on Route 202 for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Matthew Pretty (a 28-year-old male from Philadelphia) had an outstanding traffic warrant from Plainsboro Township, N.J. Pretty was released ROR with a new court date.
On March 1, at approximately 11:39 p.m., Corporal Jonathan Sellner stopped a vehicle on Linvale Harbourton Road for a motor vehicle violation. As he spoke with the driver, Dylan Brophy (a 20-year-old male from Bristol), Corporal Sellner observed the odor of marijuana. Brophy was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. After processing, he was released with a court date.
On February 21, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Corporal Jonathan Sellner stopped a vehicle on Route 29 for a motor vehicle violation. As Corporal Sellner conducted an investigation, he checked the driver, James Snook (a 31-year-old male from Milford, N.J.), for weapons. Corporal Sellner located a prohibited knife in Snook’s pocket. Snook was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. After processing, he was released with a court date.
On February 16, at approximately 12:36 a.m., Corporal Jonathan Sellner stopped a vehicle on Route 31 near Hilltop Road for a motor vehicle violation. While speaking with the driver, Kevin Eichhorn Jr. (an 18-year-old male from Flemington, N.J.), Corporal Sellner observed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After an investigation, Eichhorn was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. After processing, he was released with a court date.
