Eleanor Mary (nee Foy) Corrigan, 97, passed away peacefully at home with her family on March 10.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernard F. Corrigan, and her parents, John and Marion Foy, she is survived by her loving daughters, Brenda Carmody and her husband Jim, Patricia Vancil and her husband Denver, and Bernadette Myers and her husband Roy. Cherished grandmother of Bonnie Gray, Jennifer Hollenbaugh, Robyn Vancil, Brian Vancil, Kimberly Vancil, Amy Myers, and six great grandchildren. Dear sister of Helen Fleming and John Foy, Jr.
Eleanor was a lifelong member of St. Martin’s Church, and was the first Eucharistic Minister there, as well as singing in the choir. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxilliary and the New Hope Senior Citizens.
Eleanor enjoyed sewing, cooking, painting, gardening, and most of all, being with her family. She was the glue that bound the family together. She was fortunate to have her three daughters close by. In her final year, she was lovingly cared for by not only her family, but by Home Well Senior Care as well, especially Leona Valentine.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin’s Church in New Hope. Interment to follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
