The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) says Route 313 (Swamp Road) is scheduled to close at the U.S. 202 Intersection in Doylestown Borough from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, until 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, for resurfacing.
During the closure of Route 313 (Swamp Road), motorists will be detoured over Route 263 (York), Route 413 (Durham) and Cold Spring Creamery roads.
“In addition to the closure of Route 313 (Swamp Road), U.S. 202 will be narrowed to a single lane of traffic at the intersection with Route 313. Traffic on U.S. 202 will be controlled by flagging,” said PennDOT in a release.
“Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this work area. The construction schedule is contingent on the weather.
“This resurfacing operation is part of an $11 million project to enhance travel at the crossing of U.S. 202 and Route 313 (Swamp Road),” added PennDot. “PennDOT’s contractor is realigning and widening U.S. 202 from East State Street to just north of Route 313 to provide two lanes in each direction and turn lanes.
“In addition, crews are widening Route 313 approaching U.S. 202 to provide extended left turn lanes; widening U.S. 202 at Mechanicsville Road to provide a northbound left turn lane; realigning Mechanicsville Road to create a T-intersection at U.S. 202; and realigning East State Street to create a T-intersection at U.S. 202 and adding turn lanes on each approach to the intersection.”
